Urban Holiday

I'd never sewn curves before and this pattern walked me through it without a single puckered seam. The 3/4 yard cuts of aqua and green were plenty, though I did have to trim carefully to fit the 40 x 60 layout. It hangs on my wall now and looks like a real quilt, not a beginner's mess.

The Quick Curve Ruler made those curved piecing sections so much easier than my usual template method. I used the aqua and green prints for the main blocks and the red as a border accent, and the contrast turned out even better than I pictured. Backing took the full 3 yards with a bit left over.

The fabric amounts listed were spot-on, and I loved how the aqua and green play together. Using the Quick Curve Ruler made the curved piecing surprisingly fast and accurate.
