I love that this kit includes four yards of assorted low volume backgrounds—it saved me so much time piecing together a scrappy look. The QCR Mini made cutting the cactus curves feel almost effortless. Everything came together faster than I expected for a pattern this detailed.

The low volume background fabrics are what really make this pattern work — they let the greens pop without fighting each other. I was worried the QCR Mini ruler would be fussy, but it made trimming the cactus shapes surprisingly quick, and the 3 yards of backing left me plenty of room to spare.
